Merkskov Brand

Merkskov Brand is laid out like a printed style guide: off-white paper by day and graphite by night, a hairline grid, condensed capitals for every heading, and each colour shown as a solid block with its hex code set beside it. It was drawn for the people who end up guarding a small brand, the café owner, the bike shop, the two-person studio, and who need the rules on hand when a sign, a menu or a social post is being made. — the palette, by role Every colour in a kit carries a name and a job: primary, secondary, accent, neutral, surface or text. Swatches sit on a two-column board of cards, each with an "Aa" sample in whichever ink reads best on it. Edit a colour by hex or by three R, G, B sliders, with a live preview strip above. — contrast you can defend Pick a text colour and a background and the pair is set as a real headline and paragraph. The ratio is printed large, with pass or fail marks for AA and AAA body text, large text and UI shapes. Below it, a matrix sets every colour against every other one, so a weak pairing shows up before it reaches the printer. A preview switch redraws the pair and the matrix as they might look with protan, deutan or tritan colour vision, or in plain greyscale. — a type scale with rhythm Choose a body size, a step ratio from minor second to the golden ratio, and a typeface style: grotesk, serif, mono or condensed. The ladder from Display down to Micro is set at true size with the sp value above each line, so the hierarchy can be judged by eye, not by spreadsheet. — the way the brand talks A voice sheet keeps two short lists: what the brand is, and what it is not. Each word can carry an example line, so "warm" comes with a sentence that actually sounds warm. — kits, plural Keep a separate kit for each brand or client and switch between them from the top bar. When the guide is ready, share it as CSS custom properties or as a JSON sheet through any app on the phone. Works without internet; every kit is stored on this phone only.
