RecSho records your mixing console's channels over USB, one WAV file per channel, named from the console's scribble strips. No DAW required. Set it up once at soundcheck. After that it's ready when the band is, and records when you want it to. No interleaved files to unpack, no renaming tracks the next morning.
Plug in, set up once
Connect the console to your phone or tablet over USB and put both on the same network. Setup asks one question at a time: the audio device, the console, the show name, a signal check and auto-arm. Meters are live before anything records, so you can watch each input arrive.
Records when you want it to
Press Record, or let auto-arm start the take: by sound, when any channel rises above the threshold you set, or by the console, when a main or DCA you pick is unmuted. An auto-armed take keeps the seconds before it started, so the count-in is on the recording. It stops after the quiet time you choose, or 5 seconds after the console mutes. Stop sits behind a flip-up guard. Recording carries on with the screen off or another app in front.
One file per channel, named from the console
Every channel becomes a 24-bit WAV such as "01 Kick In.wav", not "Ch 01.wav", plus a stereo rough mix for a quick listen. If someone renames a strip during the show, the files take the new name when the take ends.
Checks the routing
RecSho reads the console's routing and shows, channel by channel, what is being recorded and what isn't. A difference is a plain-language warning, never a block: the take keeps recording, and RecSho never changes your routing. Until its reading is confirmed on your console model, it says so.
Failsafes included
Takes are saved every 5 seconds as they record. If the app quits or the power goes, the files play up to the last save, and a take cut short is finished the next time RecSho opens. A lost input, a silent channel or a low disk is named in one line, with the one thing to do about it.
Take log
Every take with its length and track count. Recordings stay on the device until you export them: Export copies a take's folder, with its WAVs and track sheet, to a folder you pick, such as Documents or a USB stick.
Also
- Optional SD card backup (off by default; new, and marked as untested in the app): starts and stops the console's own card recorder with each take (X32, M32 and WING), and asks before changing anything on the card.
- Recording time left at your track count.
- Any other USB audio interface, or the built-in microphone, records one WAV per input.
Made for
Behringer X32 and Midas M32 (through an X-USB, X-LIVE, DN32-USB or DN32-LIVE card), Behringer WING, and Behringer XR18 and Midas MR18. Channel names, colours, mute triggers, routing checks and SD card backup need the console on the same network; recording needs only the USB connection.
No account, no tracking
RecSho has no account, advertising or usage analytics. Your recordings stay on your device and the folders you export them to. RecSho sends nothing to sho.run.
