Sideways: Drift & Police Chase

Drag your thumb, throw the car sideways, and don't stop. The cops are already behind you. Sideways is an arcade drifting game you play with one thumb. A small drag steers, a big drag drifts, and every slide fills your nitro. Chain drifts, scrape past traffic and hit the boost pad before the ramp, because the river on the other side is wide. ★ DRIFT WITH ONE THUMB Drag a little to steer, drag further to slide, and pull back to brake. Prefer buttons or tilt? Both are in, with three assist levels from fully helped to pure drift. It is easy to pick up, but holding a long drift through a hairpin at full speed takes practice. ★ THE COPS NEVER GIVE UP Every drift, near miss and smashed sign builds heat. Patrol cars come up fast behind you, weave across your mirror and line up the ram. At high heat a second cruiser joins, roadblocks close the road, a helicopter puts its spotlight on you and a heavy van tries to box you in. Lose them or get busted. ★ BIG AIR Hit the boost pad, take the kicker and fly. Jump rivers, clear raised drawbridges and land it clean for a score bonus. If you come up short, you splash. ★ WORLDS TO EXPLORE • Coastal Circuit: beach huts, palm trees and a lighthouse on the bay • Cyber City: rain-soaked neon towers and drawbridges at night • Mountain Pass: hairpins, pine forest and river gorges • Desert Rally: canyon roads and long sand straights at dawn • Small Village: tight lanes, a drawbridge and chickens, sheep and cows who would rather you did not drift through their road ★ A GARAGE TO FILL Start in the Kestrel and earn your way into the garage: the tiny Pip, the heavy Brawler, the Stiletto, a delivery van and more.
