Kayah Dictionary

Karenni(ꤊꤢ꤬ꤛꤢ꤭ꤜꤟꤤ꤬) State is located in eastern Myanmar. It is bordered to the north by Shan State, to the east by Thailand’s Mae Hong Son Province, and to the south and west by Kayin State. The three main ethnic groups in Karenni State are the Kayah(ꤊꤢ꤬ꤛꤢ꤭), Kayan(ꤜꤢ꤬ꤋꤛꤢꤩ꤭), and Kayaw(ꤊꤢ꤬ꤛꤢꤪ꤭). Kayah (spoken in Karenni State) is a Sino-Tibetan language belonging to the Karenic branch. It has two primary varieties: 1. Eastern Kayah: Spoken by over 350,000 people across Myanmar and Thailand. 2. Western Kayah: Spoken by over 200,000 people, primarily in Myanmar.
