Peony: Slow, Real Dates

Take your time. Peony is designed around a slower approach to dating, where early dates give you space to get to know each other without the expectation of physical intimacy. No swiping. No chatting. No endless profile browsing. Tell us when you're free, and Peony arranges a blind date with someone who's looking for something meaningful too. Your first conversation happens face to face, so you can focus on what actually matters — each other. HOW IT WORKS Tell us when you’re free — every Monday evening, or just Saturday afternoons. Choose how much notice you want, and connect your calendar so you’re only offered dates that fit your schedule. Peony offers you an authentic date, rather than a person to evaluate. You’ll get a time and a convenient meeting place, then simply say yes or no. Two hours before your date, you’ll see each other’s names, ages, and photos — just enough to find each other when you arrive. We take care of everything leading up to the date, leaving you free to meet, relax, and see how you feel. WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THEM There’s no long bio to scroll through. Instead, you’ll see a small set of useful, verified facts: • Verified — Their government-issued ID has been matched to a selfie to confirm their identity. This is mandatory; it’s how everyone gets in. • Reliable — They haven’t cancelled or rescheduled a date. • Positive feedback — People they’ve met have said the date went well. • Active badge — One of five activity levels, based on data they choose to share through Health Connect. • STI test — They’ve provided documentation of an STI test. We record that it was provided, never the results. WHERE YOU MEET We choose a public meeting place that’s easy for both of you to get to, find, and leave. Once your date is confirmed, the location is set, so it’s one less thing for you to think about. Peony gives you directions and lets your date know if you’re running late — no chatting required. You can also choose to share your location to make finding each other easier. Then put your phone away and enjoy connecting. AFTER THE DATE Tell us how it went, whether you felt safe and if you’d like to meet again. If the feeling is mutual, exchange contact details or let Peony arrange your next date. If not, you won’t be matched again. HEALTH CONNECT (OPTIONAL) If you allow it, Peony reads three things from Health Connect: your height, your weight, and your active calories burned over the last seven days. We use them to fill in your height and weight in Personal details, so you don’t have to type them, and to award your Active badge: one of five activity levels shown on your profile. The level is worked out from your activity relative to your body size, so people of different builds are compared fairly. Other members see only the level, never your measurements or calorie figures. Peony never writes to Health Connect, and your health data is never used for advertising, sold, or shared. Without Health Connect your Active badge stays at Level 0; everything else works the same. You can stop sharing at any time in Health Connect’s settings. WHAT YOU’LL NEED • A mobile phone number — we’ll send you a verification code by SMS. No password needed. • You must be 18 or over. • Tokens to book a date, available to purchase in the app. Show up and most of your tokens are returned. If you don’t, they’re not.
