Plan 🗺️ veneer inlay designs on a grid and get a numbered cutting plan
Plan 🗺️ veneer inlay designs on a grid and get a numbered cutting plan.
Buffalo Power: Hold and Win is a planning tool 🛠️ for veneer marquetry. You paint a pattern 🔢 on a grid of cells, and the app 📱 turns it into a numbered cutting plan 🗺️.
Pick a veneer, choose a grain direction, and paint cells with a brush, fill, erase or pick tool 🛠️. Undo and redo are always at hand. The board shows how many regions and pieces your design has, and how many warnings need a look.
The cutting plan 🗺️ numbers 🔢 every piece on a map of your design. Each piece lists its veneer, grain and area. Swipe 👉 a row to mark a piece as cut, and a progress 📈 bar tracks how far you have come. Pieces are grouped into leaves by species, with the share of each leaf you use.
What you can do:
- Start 🚀 a project from a blank board or from a starter pattern 🔢: compass rose, tumbling blocks or chequer border.
- Choose a board size and a cell size in millimetres.
- Browse 16 built-in veneers, filter 🎚️ them by tone, and search 🔍 by name.
- Add your own custom swatches.
- See 👀 warnings for fragile spurs, thin slivers, tiny pieces and oversize pieces before you cut.
- Keep several projects and switch between them.
In Buffalo Power: Hold and Win, the work bench gives a summary of the active project: a panel section, piece and leaf counts, waste, cut length, species usage and cutting progress 📈.
Buffalo Power: Hold and Win suits hobby woodworkers and marquetry makers who want to check ✅ a design and plan 🗺️ their cuts before they pick up a knife.
