Think back to last Tuesday. Which purchase do you still remember, and why did you make it? Spendful is a spending journal built around that question. It is not budgeting or accounting software, and it gives no financial advice.
Each day you can write down up to three purchases, with an optional line about why. The amount is optional too, so a gift, a freebie or a refund fits as easily as a coffee.
HOW A DAY GOES
- Tap Add Entry and describe what you spent on
- Add the amount if you like, and a few words on the reason
- At three entries the day is full, and Spendful tells you so gently
- If you allow notifications, a reminder arrives at 8 PM in your own time zone
- Swiped an entry away by mistake? Tap Undo within five seconds
- A streak badge on Today counts the days in a row you wrote
LOOKING BACK
History lists your past days, newest first, entry by entry with the reasons you wrote. There are no categories, no budgets, no charts and no totals to feel bad about. Amounts and dates follow your phone's region, so you see your own currency and your own date order.
SPENDFUL IS FREE, WITH ONE AD
A small banner sits at the bottom of the History tab and nowhere else. Today, Add Entry and Settings stay clear, so writing an entry is never interrupted.
In the EEA and UK, where the law asks for consent, a form appears before the first ad loads, and Ad privacy options in Settings reopens it if you change your mind. You can decline and lose no feature.
Your entries and reasons are saved in the app's own storage on your phone. Spendful has no account and no server of its own, so nothing you write is sent to us. On Android 13 and newer, the notification prompt appears once, after the introduction.
A GOOD FIT IF
People who tried budgeting apps and found them tiring, and who would rather spend a minute a day understanding their own habits. Available in English, Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese, following your phone's language.
