Description
Plan 🗺️ layered resin pours and see 👀 how each layer heats, gels and cures.
Baloon Catch is a pour bench for resin artists who cast in layers, built to answer one question before you mix 🥣: will this stack cure the way you want?
1. Pick a mould — round or hex coaster, serving tray, sphere, dome, bangle, pendant, bookmark, cube or river board — and a resin system, from thin coating resin to slow deep-pour.
2. Stack your layers. Give each one a depth, a colourant such as mica, alcohol ink or gold leaf, and an inclusion such as glitter, petals, shells or stone chips. Baloon Catch works out the mass and the Part A and Part B amounts for every layer.
3. Set your studio temperature and humidity. The cure model estimates each layer's exotherm peak, gel time ⏱️, recoat window and demould time, and warns you when a layer runs too hot and should be split in two.
4. Drag ✋ the time ⏱️ scrubber and watch 👀 the cross-section move from liquid to gel to hard, hour by hour.
5. Put the piece on the cure rack. Shelves sort 🔄 your pieces by state, and a banner counts down to the next recoat window so you know 💡 when to pour.
6. Once a piece is out of the mould, photograph it and drop pins on bubbles, haze, soft spots or cracks. Baloon Catch traces each pin to the layer it sits in and the numbers 🔢 behind it, and the fault atlas keeps count of what you see 👀 most often.
The kit library 📚 covers 10 moulds, 6 colourants, 8 inclusions and 6 resin systems, each with the figures the bench uses. Everything works offline 📴, with no sign-up.
