Paper Tricks

Paper Tricks is a mobile app that creates printable paper illusions and folding toys from a user's own photographs. The user selects a photo, chooses a trick, and prints the generated sheet on ordinary paper. After cutting and folding, the result is a handmade optical toy. The app supports six types of paper tricks: • Agamograph – a pleated picture that shows different images depending on the viewing angle. • Hexaflexagon – a folded paper hexagon that reveals hidden faces when flexed. • Kaleidocycle – a ring of paper tetrahedra that rotates continuously. • Scanimation – a striped image and overlay that create apparent motion when slid. • Cootie catcher – a folded paper fortune teller, also known as a chatterbox. • Flipbook – a stack of pages that shows an animation when flipped quickly. How it works: choose a trick, select photos from the gallery, preview the result, then print the sheet or save it as a PDF. Photos are processed on the device.
