SFC Wildlife Watch

Sarawak Wildlife Watch is the official citizen science platform for monitoring and protecting Sarawak’s unique biodiversity. Designed for nature enthusiasts, residents, and visitors, this app allows you to play an active role in wildlife conservation. By reporting sightings of local fauna, you provide critical data that helps authorities and researchers manage and protect Sarawak’s natural heritage. Key Features: - Real-Time Reporting: Instantly capture and submit wildlife sightings, including photos and precise GPS locations. - Interactive Mapping: Your reports are integrated into an ArcGIS-powered map server, allowing for real-time visualization of wildlife activity across the state. - Expert Data Management: Submitted reports are sent directly to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation's central server for verification and conservation analysis. - Educational Resource: Learn more about Sarawak’s protected species and how to safely observe them in their natural habitat. - Offline Data Capture: Working in remote areas? You can save your reports locally on your device without an internet connection. - Manual Sync Control: Once you return to an area with internet access, you can manually review and upload your saved reports to ensure your data is sent successfully. How it Works: - Spot: Encounter wildlife in your surroundings. - Capture: Take a photo and fill in a quick survey form. - Save: If offline, save the report to your device's local storage. - Upload: When back online, open your "Saved Reports" and tap send to sync with our ArcGIS map layer. - Protect: Your contribution helps us track species distribution and respond to wildlife incidents more effectively.
