Description
You finish first on the grid.
1. Nine small boards sit inside one large grid.
2. The square you pick sends your rival to the matching board.
3. Three in a row on a small board claims it.
4. A closed board lets you play on any open one instead.
5. Claim three boards in a line and you finish first.
6. Face Rookie, Thinker or Grandmaster, as X first or O second.
7. Pass and play puts two people on one screen.
8. Fourteen drills ask for a finish in one or two moves.
9. Ten feats and a true or false quiz round it off.
This is noughts and crosses with a second layer of thinking. A giant banner tells you whose turn it is, and a running marquee reading play here wraps the small grid you must play in, so the rule that shapes every game is always in sight. Rookie spots the obvious tactics, Thinker searches four moves deep, and Grandmaster digs deeper still, ordering its options with care. Each drill is a real position with a forced line, checked by a solver, played against the strongest defence. Stats show your share of first finishes against the bots, your streaks, a bar for each opponent and your recent games. The quiz asks twelve statements per round from 26 real facts about grid games and game theory, from a 1952 noughts and crosses game on an early Cambridge computer to the alpha-beta search. A full rules panel sits under More, haptics and motion can be switched off, and the app plays offline, with no ads and no account.
