WetterHorizont

WetterHorizont brings your weather and the night sky together. Find locations worldwide, plan the hours ahead, and discover better conditions for watching auroras and meteor showers. YOUR WEATHER AT A GLANCE Current and feels-like temperatures, daily highs and lows, and a horizontally scrolling 48-hour forecast. Explore the 10-day outlook and open a day for more detail. THE DETAILS THAT MATTER Precipitation and rain chances, wind and gusts, wind direction, humidity, visibility, pressure, dew point, UV index, and cloud cover. Check sunrise, sunset, daylight duration, and the Moon phase. Official weather alerts appear where Apple Weather provides them. RAIN RADAR Explore recent precipitation observations from Deutscher Wetterdienst on an interactive map covering Germany and neighboring areas. Move the time slider through the latest available radar frames. Radar coverage is regional; this is not a worldwide rain forecast. DISCOVER AURORAS See short-range auroral activity across both hemispheres on a world map based on current NOAA model forecasts. Zoom in, switch to the night side, and understand global activity with a color-coded Kp index. For your selected location, WetterHorizont compares darkness, clouds, moonlight, and the Kp forecast to suggest observing windows over the next three days. A list of well-known viewing locations helps you plan. PLAN A METEOR WATCH Explore 11 annual meteor showers, activity dates, a star chart, the radiant, and a clear line pointing toward a suggested viewing field. On devices with a compass, the view responds as you turn your phone. See an estimated number per hour, including 0 when conditions are unsuitable. Choose a date, time, and sky quality to compare conditions. YOUR PLACES AND PREFERENCES Search for cities worldwide or optionally use your location. Save favorites, switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, and use the app in English or German. Layouts adapt to phones and tablets. SKY REMINDERS Save a personal reminder for a planned aurora or meteor-watching session. Notifications are enabled only with your permission. These are scheduled reminders, not automatic severe-weather or auroral-activity push alerts. WetterHorizont is free to use with all features and requires no account. An internet connection is needed for current weather, radar, and space-weather data. Favorites and reminders remain on your device. Weather and sky events cannot be guaranteed. The aurora map is a model forecast, not a camera image. Meteor rates are estimates for the chosen conditions. Data sources include Apple Weather, NOAA SWPC, Deutscher Wetterdienst, the International Meteor Organization, Natural Earth, and Astronomy Engine.
