Draw Sound

Draw Sound turns drawing into music. Move your finger across the board, and every line you draw becomes notes that play as a moving playhead sweeps over it. No musical knowledge is needed: the height of your line decides the pitch, and its position decides when the note plays. HOW IT WORKS Draw with one finger. Press play and the playhead moves across the board in a loop, playing what you drew. Change the tempo, switch the scale, or pick a different color at any time and hear the result right away. MUSICAL SCALES Choose between Major, Minor and an Arabic scale (Hijaz). Switching the scale changes the sound of your whole drawing instantly, so the same picture can sound bright, sad or oriental. SEVEN COLORS, SEVEN SOUNDS Each color is its own instrument: bell, synth, piano, bass, pluck, flute and chip. Each color also plays its own kind of melody: • Melody: a note each time the line changes height • Chords: a full chord at every change • Arpeggio: a running pattern of notes along the line • Pulse: a steady repeated note on the beat • Echo: a note followed by two fading echoes You can change the style of every color in the settings. THREE BOARDS • Ink on paper: ruled paper with soft ink strokes • Pixel grid: lines snap to a grid of cells, like a step sequencer • Photo stage: choose a photo from your gallery and draw music on top of it LONGER DRAWINGS, LONGER MUSIC Extend the board up to 8 pages. A longer board means a longer piece. Scroll along it with two fingers while one finger draws. SAVE, EXPORT AND SHARE • Save your drawings with a name and open them later, and they play again with the same music • Export a drawing as a WAV audio file and share it with your apps • Choose how many times the loop repeats in the exported file SETTINGS • 16 languages: English (default), Arabic, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Hindi, Urdu, Persian, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean • Dark, light or system theme, with a choice of accent colors • Default scale and tempo, and volume • Keep the screen on while the app is open PRIVACY Your drawings and the photos you choose are stored on your device. The app only reads a photo when you pick it, and a file is shared only when you choose to share it.
