Private, offline encrypted vault for photos, videos & notes. No account or ads.
Your life. Behind the veil.
Veil Vault is a local-first, genuinely encrypted space for your private photos, videos, notes, and documents. Unlike simple "hidden folder" apps, Veil protects everything on your device using strong encryption—with zero internet access, no accounts, and no ads.
REAL ON-DEVICE ENCRYPTION • AES-256-GCM Protection: Encrypts file contents, filenames, secure notes, favorites, and your vault index. • Pattern-Derived Keys: Protected by a 5×5 pattern grid (minimum 6 dots) using PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 (210,000 iterations) and a unique salt to wrap a random vault key. Your pattern is never stored. • Cover Storage by Design: Veil keeps random cover slots alongside real vaults and pads file and index sizes so storage alone does not reveal how many vaults exist.
PRIVATE CAMERA & MEDIA • Encrypted on Capture: Take photos and record videos directly inside Veil. Media is held in memory, encrypted immediately, and saved straight into your vault—never touching your public gallery or cloud backups. • In-Memory Playback: Videos are decrypted piece by piece in memory while playing inside Veil without writing unencrypted files to storage. • Secure Notes & Files: Import photos, videos, and documents (up to 100 MB per file) or write encrypted notes for recovery phrases, IDs, and sensitive details.
100% OFFLINE & PRIVATE • No Network Permission: Veil cannot connect to the internet. There are no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, no ads, and no cloud uploads. • Separate Space for Every Pattern: Create multiple independent vaults Simply by setting up a different pattern from the lock screen—with no visible vault picker. • Private When You Step Away: Automatically locks the moment the app is backgrounded and blocks screenshots and recent-app previews on supported devices.
BACKUPS YOU CONTROL • Manual Encrypted Backups: Export and restore encrypted vault backups whenever and wherever you choose. • Emergency Recovery Code: Each vault generates a one-time 48-character recovery code so you can regain access if you ever forget your pattern.
