Description
Run blind through fog and steer by the blip strip alone
The stadium is drowned in night fog. You are running flat out through it, and you cannot see a single thing in front of you.
What you can see is a thin lime strip along the foot of the screen. Barriers approaching through the murk register on it as blips, drifting steadily towards the baseline. When a blip touches that line, whatever it represents is upon you. So you stop trying to look ahead, you watch the strip, and you drag left or right to put your body where the blips are not. Running by instrument instead of by sight is a strange feeling for the first minute and then it becomes the only way you want to play.
Across 14 levels, the sensor is methodically turned against you. The mist thickens until the track itself is barely a suggestion. What begins as 3 barriers grows to 12, so the strip fills with overlapping traffic and the clean gaps you were threading disappear. The sensor scale compresses, squeezing the same information into less space, which means a lane change that used to feel obvious now hinges on millimetres of blip. The ground picks up speed, cutting the time between reading and reacting.
Then, from level 11, the strip starts lying to you. Some blips are false echoes — phantom readings with nothing behind them. Dodging every signal becomes impossible, so you have to learn the difference between a real contact and a ghost, and trust that judgement at full sprint with no way to confirm it until you have already run through the space.
This is a reflex game about reading rather than reacting. The hands are easy — one drag, left or right. The hard part is the two-way translation between a row of moving lights and a body hurtling through grey nothing, and how quickly you can do it when the fog closes in and the readout stops being trustworthy.
