Vegas UA's Space Invaders offers its highest single-moment score potential when a score multiplier powerup is active at the exact moment a UFO flies across the top of the screen. A multiplied UFO hit combines the random bonus of the UFO with the amplification factor of the multiplier, the result is a disproportionately large point spike relative to normal play. Engineering this combination requires collecting the score multiplier from an alien drop and then holding fire on the formation while waiting for the next UFO crossing to begin. This deliberate pause in formation clearing is a calculated risk, the formation descends while the player waits, but the potential score reward can justify the exposure.
