Climb from your feet past planets, stars & galaxies, in order of real distance.
Start at 0 m, right at your feet, and climb. Clouds and Everest, the height where airliners fly, the height where space is said to begin, the International Space Station and GPS satellites, the Moon, the Sun and the planets, Voyager 1, the stars and constellations, the galaxies, and finally the cosmic microwave background, the oldest light in the universe. Everything sits on a single axis in order of its real distance, so you can follow the scale of the universe step by step.
Features
- Height and distance at a glance: every mark tells the story of its height, with a source for each value. The solar system is measured in astronomical units (AU), the stars in light-years.
- Tap to learn more: tap an object to see a photo, a description, and who measured its distance and how.
- Constellations in 3D: the stars of a constellation lie at different distances, so it is not flat. Turn it in 3D and find the angle we see from Earth to bring back the familiar shape.
- Space photos: images released by NASA, ESA and others appear in the background as you climb, each with its credit.
- Five languages: English, 한국어, 日本語, 简体中文, Español
Private and simple
- No internet permission, so it works fully offline.
- No ads, no accounts, no logins, no analytics.
- No personal data is collected. The app keeps only your language choice and whether you have seen the first-run notice, on your device.
Where an object's distance is not known precisely, the app says so. Showing what we know and what we don't is how Skystair works.
For anyone who loves stars and space, wonders how big the solar system and galaxies really are, or is just starting to learn astronomy.
What's new
