The Life in the UK Test has 24 questions and you need 18 right to pass, so you can get only 6 wrong. This app is an independent study aid, not an official product, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Home Office, UKVI or any UK government body. Questions stay in English, as in the test, and every answer has an explanation in Traditional Chinese, so you understand the facts in your own language and still learn the English wording. WHO IT IS FOR Most people applying for settlement or British citizenship must pass the test first; GOV.UK lists who is exempt. Many Chinese-speaking applicants read English well; what trips them up is the background, from Roman Britain to how Parliament works. The test can ask about one fact in several ways, and the Chinese explanation gives you the fact behind the answer. WHAT A QUESTION LOOKS LIKE Each question has four options. From the History chapter: Which Roman emperor sent the legions that conquered Britain in AD 43? The answer is Claudius, and the Chinese explanation adds that Britain then became part of the Roman Empire. Questions you get wrong are collected in a review list.
