A night puzzle game: lure nightmares onto endless stairs and reach the cradle
Neverstair is a quiet night puzzle game set in an impossible tower. At the top a child sleeps in a cradle, and nightmares creep out of the shadows – soft, slightly funny creatures with glowing eyes. They walk towards the nearest light: the mother's lantern or the little lamp over the cradle. Bring the mother to the cradle so that no nightmare can reach it any more, and dawn breaks.
One rule carries the whole game: nightmares never walk down stairs. Lure them higher, walk down, and they stay up there. On stairs that only climb in one direction, they keep circling until morning. And what you see is what counts: paths that meet on the screen truly connect – for the nightmares too.
• 100 levels in ten chapters, from gentle to tricky
• Time moves only when you act: every step, every turn of a crank and every moment of waiting is one move for the nightmares
• Dots show where each nightmare will step next, so you can plan ahead
• New ideas chapter by chapter: impossible paths, endless stairs, fallers that never walk up, plates that nightmares switch on every lap, decoy lanterns, owls that no illusion can fool, and echoes that move linked mechanisms together
• Cranks that turn parts of the tower, knobs that slide platforms and coloured plates
• Moonlit sky and music-box lullabies
• No points, no timers, no hurry
• Undo the last move at any time, even after a nightmare has caught you
• Portrait and landscape, progress saved on your device
• 7 languages: English, Polish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian
How to play
Tap a tile and the mother walks there by the shortest way. Tap the Wait button, or the mother herself, to let a moment pass while only the nightmares move. Drag a crank wheel or tap it to turn part of the building a quarter turn – each quarter turn takes a moment, and the nightmares take a step. If a nightmare catches the mother or wakes the child, undo the move and lead them another way.
Ads and purchase
Neverstair is free to play and contains ads. Full-screen ads only appear between levels, never during play, and there are no banners. If you get stuck, you can choose to watch a rewarded ad for a hint, once per level: the game itself performs the next moves of the solution, and if you have walked into a dead end, it first undoes moves back to a position that can still be solved. This is always optional, and every level can be solved without it. A one-time purchase removes the ads, and hints are then available without watching anything. The game works without an internet connection; only the ads need one.
What's new
A hint button is now on screen, and you can take as many hints as you need. Characters are always drawn on top.
