Up X

Up X is a vocabulary learning app whose quiz mode generates four-option questions using distractors pulled from the same deck you're studying, making the wrong choices plausible, contextually relevant, and genuinely challenging. This matters because good distractors make the test harder in the right way. In a Basic Spanish quiz, the three wrong options will be other Spanish words from the same deck, not random noise, forcing you to distinguish between similar vocabulary rather than spotting an obvious outlier. In the World Capitals deck, quiz questions might ask you to identify a capital city with three other real capitals as choices, testing genuine knowledge of each country rather than letting you eliminate absurd options at a glance. The Phrasal Verbs deck benefits particularly from this approach: when all four answer choices are plausible phrasal verb meanings, you must truly understand the phrase rather than rely on guessing from context clues. Up X's within-deck distractor system makes quiz mode a real test of your knowledge rather than a superficial exercise, ensuring that a correct answer reflects genuine mastery rather than lucky guessing.
