Shoot a film look, add a date stamp or border, and batch-edit photos.
Film Look Camera turns a digital photo into something that looks like it came off a roll of film. Point the camera or import a picture you already have, pick one of 24 looks, and slide the strength from a barely-there hint to the full effect. Your original photo is never touched — every look is applied to a copy.
🎞️ 24 looks, built not faked
Each look is a real recipe, not a colour overlay: per-channel tone curves, a shadow and highlight colour balance, saturation, contrast, film grain with its own amount and size, halation glowing around bright edges, vignetting, and on some looks a light leak. Because they are recipes, the strength slider moves cleanly through every step between "off" and "full".
• Sunbleach — washed-out highlights, colour pulled back, a warm tilt
• Harvest Gold — reds and yellows lifted, blues held down, golden light
• Amber Hour — strong warm halation and a light leak from the corner
• Portrait Cream — gentle warmth on skin, soft highlights, barely any grain
• Faded Postcard — lifted blacks, low contrast, coarse grain, pastel colour
• Overcast Matte — flat and calm, colour drained, almost no grain
• Cold Press — cyan shadows, crisp contrast, fine grain
• Cross Drift — cyan shadows against yellow highlights, high contrast
• Slide Vivid — deep saturation and contrast with a heavy vignette
• Night Neon — magenta and cyan split, big grain, glowing signs
• Ember Scale — the blue channel almost gone, red everywhere, light leaking in
• Silver Print — black and white, cool shadows, warm highlights, heavy grain
🧡 Date stamp and borders, free
Burn in the warm orange LED date stamp cameras used on film — it reads the photo's own date, or today's if there is none — and pick a border: 35mm sprocket holes, an instant-film white edge, a thin white frame, or none.
🎚️ One slider, then the details
Strength is the first control and usually the only one you need. When you want more, open fine tuning and move grain, vignette and warmth on their own. Press and hold the picture at any time to see the untouched original underneath.
📷 Shoot or import
Take the photo inside the app with a live preview of the look, or import a picture you already have through the system photo picker — no gallery permission needed, and the app only ever sees the one picture you chose.
💾 Full resolution, every time
The preview is rendered at screen size so it stays quick, and the saved photo is rendered again at the full resolution of the original with exactly the same maths. Save it to your gallery or send it straight to a message. You choose the JPEG quality, and you choose whether the date, camera and location of the original are carried over.
🔒 Private and offline
Every pixel is processed on your phone. There is no account, no server and no internet requirement. The only Android permission the app asks for is the camera, and only when you shoot.
✨ Free, with one optional upgrade
Everything above is free, supported by a small banner and an occasional full-screen ad. A one-time purchase removes ads forever and unlocks batch apply — your current look, border and date stamp applied to up to 30 photos at once. It is not a subscription.
A note on honesty: the look names are our own. They describe a feeling, not a product — none of them claim to reproduce any particular film stock, and no brand names are used. The live preview is an approximation for speed; grain and halation are added when the photo is rendered.
🎨 Decorating studio
Tap Decorate on the edit screen to adjust, layer light-leak/dust/grain effects and crop in real time, then add text, emoji, shapes or caption stickers before sharing at 9:16, 4:5 or 1:1.
What's new
