Calm radio, offline rain and nature sounds, piano, breathing and a sleep timer.
Wind down, focus or fall asleep, right now. Relaxation Music brings calm radio, soothing sounds, offline piano and guided breathing together in one quiet app.
CALM RADIO, BY MOOD
Tell it what you need: Sleep, Focus, Unwind or Meditate. Two dozen hand-picked stations of ambient, new age, spa, chillout, lounge, classical and solo piano music, from RadioArt, Ambient Sleeping Pill, 181.FM, Lounge Radio and more. See what's playing, save a song you love to find later, and star your favorites. Every station is checked several times a day, so the list only holds stations that are on the air.
SOUNDS YOU CAN MIX
Rain, a thunderstorm, ocean waves, a mountain stream, dawn birds, night frogs, summer cicadas, wind, a crackling fireplace, and white, pink and brown noise. Layer up to six, each at its own volume, start from a ready-made mix like Rainy Night or Cabin Fire, and save your own. They're built into the app, so they play offline, with the screen off, and even under a radio station: rain under piano is lovely.
CALM MUSIC, OFFLINE
Satie's Gymnopédie, Chopin's nocturnes, Bach's Goldberg Aria and Schumann's Träumerei on solo piano, plus gentle ambient and meditation pieces. Download them once and they play without a connection, on a plane or with your phone in airplane mode at night.
BREATHE
A circle that fills as you breathe in and empties as you breathe out. Choose 4-7-8 for sleep, box breathing, a calm six breaths a minute, or a long exhale, for one to ten minutes, with a gentle vibration at each change so you can close your eyes. See your calm minutes for the week.
SLEEP
A sleep timer that fades everything out gently over its last half minute, up to two hours. Night mode turns the screen into a dim clock for the nightstand. Optional bedtime and daily calm reminders, silent, set by you.
CALM NEWS
Stories on sleep, meditation and mindfulness, stress and anxiety, yoga and breathing, music and sound, and nature and wellbeing, from Mindful, Greater Good, ScienceDaily and publishers across the web. Follow a topic for a quiet notification at most once a day, never at night.
A CALM DESIGN
Twilight colors, a slow night sky, soft shapes, and a dark mode that's easy on your eyes at bedtime.
WHAT IT CAN'T DO
Radio stations play live, so you hear what they're playing; songs you save open in Apple Music or Spotify, not here. The offline music is a short collection of free classical and ambient pieces, not a streaming library. Breathing exercises and sounds are for relaxation; they are not medical treatment. News is written by the publishers it links to, not by us.
Classical recordings by Musopen and Kimiko Ishizaka, released to the public domain. Ambient music by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com), licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0. Nature recordings from Wikimedia Commons, public domain. Stations belong to their operators and play unchanged under their own names.
Free, with a single banner ad. A one-time purchase removes it.
