You never aim the laser directly; you choose where the emitter comes to rest, and the beams do the rest. Charge every crystal on the bench to finish the experiment. Every experiment is built so that its mirrors genuinely matter: swap them for plain walls and the puzzle could not be solved. OPTICS BENCH One bounce at a time. The first ten experiments introduce the two mirror angles, / and \, and show how a beam keeps travelling until it hits something. This is where you learn to read a bench before you touch it, and where the Undo, Reset and Hint buttons earn their place. A hint lights up where the next good slide ends. PRISM HALL Crystals tucked into the corners. Reaching them means stopping the emitter in exactly the right square, often by using one crystal or mirror as a brake for the next slide. Finish an experiment within par and it earns three stars, plus a crystal for your Crystal Cabinet. There are thirty to collect, from Quartz, Amethyst and Citrine to Moonstone, Alexandrite and the rare Painite. FUSION CORE Mirrors everywhere. The last ten experiments crowd the bench with reflections, so a single slide can send beams ricocheting across half the grid. Thirty experiments in all, and a clean run through the Fusion Core earns the Fusion Ignited badge. DAILY TRIAL Each day a different supervisor, from Dr. Curie and Prof. Newton to Dr. Lovelace and Prof. Faraday, leaves one bench for you to pass. Clear the trial three days running and you earn the Night Shift badge. LASER STORES Experiments pay out photons, and photons requisition new lasers. Start with the Ruby Rod, a nod to the very first laser of 1960, then install Helium-Neon, Argon Blue, Pointer Green, a violet disc-reader laser and the rich Gold Vapour. Each one recolours your beams. LOGBOOK Your totals live here, alongside twelve badges such as Clean Shot for finishing within par and Independent Study for five experiments in a row without a hint.
