WatotoSafe is a digital parenting and parental-control app designed to help parents and guardians create a safer Android experience when sharing a phone with a child. With WatotoSafe, parents can create child profiles, set screen-time sessions, choose which apps a child can use, protect parent-only settings, block selected websites and categories, and review local activity history. WatotoSafe is designed with an offline-first approach, so important parenting features can continue working even when internet access is limited. During a protected child session, the service helps WatotoSafe detect which app is currently open so it can enforce the apps selected by the parent and protect parent-only Android Settings. WatotoSafe does not use AccessibilityService to read screen text, private messages, passwords or touch input. Accessibility information is not used for advertising or marketing. Website Protection WatotoSafe uses Android VpnService to provide Website Protection. The service applies local DNS and website filtering based on the restrictions selected by the parent, including blocked website categories and manually blocked websites. WatotoSafe is not a commercial VPN service and does not use the VPN to change the user’s location, sell browsing data, inject advertising or monetize internet traffic. Privacy-first design Core information such as child profiles, Parent PIN verification, screen-time settings and session history is primarily stored on the parent’s device. WatotoSafe does not require a cloud account for normal use of Parent Sharing Mode. Some online features, such as Tips & Guides, signed website protection catalogues, campaign images and additional avatars, may be downloaded from WatotoSafe servers and cached for offline use.
