Description
Pokerok - Roll one whole number
Pokerok is a simple number roller for your phone. You choose the lowest number and the highest number, tap Generate, and Pokerok shows one whole number from that range.
Open the app and you land on a quiet home screen. The name Pokerok sits in the center, with a short line that tells you to pick a range and roll a number. One large button, Open, takes you to the roller. There is nothing else on that first screen.
The roller is titled Random number. Two boxes sit side by side. The left box is Minimum. The right box is Maximum. The first time you open Pokerok, those boxes start at 1 and 100. Until you roll, the middle of the screen shows a dash. Type any whole numbers you need, including numbers below zero. Then tap Generate. The result replaces the dash and appears in large bright type, so you can read it at a glance.
Every roll stays inside the two numbers you typed, and both ends count. If you set 1 and 6, you can get 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. If you set 0 and 59, you can get any minute in that hour. If you set 10 and 10, Pokerok shows 10, because a range with one possible value has only that value. If the lowest number is higher than the highest number, the app does not roll. A short note says the minimum must not be greater than the maximum. If a box has letters, a value that is not a whole number, or a value outside the allowed span, another note asks you to enter valid whole numbers inside the allowed range.
The allowed span runs from minus one million to one million. That covers small picks, such as 1 to 10, and wider picks, such as a page count or a large score. You do not have to retype the same range every time. Pokerok keeps the last minimum and the last maximum on the phone. Leave the boxes empty and the app uses those saved ends. Change them, tap Generate, and the new ends replace the old ones.
Under the result, a Recent list keeps your latest rolls. The newest number is at the top. The list holds up to twelve numbers. Older rolls drop off once the list is full. If you have not rolled yet, the list is hidden and a line says No rolls yet. When you want a fresh start, tap Clear. That removes the list only. Your minimum and maximum stay as they are.
The list and the range stay on the device after you close Pokerok and open it again. There is no account to create and no extra screen to set up. The phone stays upright, the buttons are large enough to tap with a thumb, and the screen uses a dark background so the bright result stands out.
A single whole number is enough for many small moments. Set the range to the number of people in the room and Pokerok can point to one turn. Set the range to the length of a book and it can point to one page. Set 1 and 31 when you want a day of the month. Set the count of choices on a numbered list you already wrote on paper, and the roll points at one line. You still make the list. Pokerok only supplies the number.
