PlayNow A row of iron charges sits waiting in the quarry shed, and each one trails a rope fuse of its own length. One fuse is long and slow. The next is a stub that will be gone in a breath. You light them with your finger, one by one, and the shed only gives you what you came for if every fuse burns out in the very same instant. That single condition is the whole puzzle. The order follows from it: longest fuse first, then the next longest, down to the shortest, lit last of all. But order alone is never enough. The spacing between your taps has to match the difference between the fuses, so the charge you lit at the start and the charge you lit at the end arrive together at the end of their rope. Too hasty on the second tap and the short fuse runs dry early. Too slow and the long one has already finished while you were still reaching. PlayNow Fifteen levels take away your comforts one at a time. Early on you can read the fuse seconds plainly and plan the whole sequence before touching anything. Later the numbers vanish and all you get is a colour band — you learn to read the bands themselves, to feel which shade means slow and which means that you should be lighting it almost last. The window for simultaneity narrows until near enough stops being near enough. And somewhere in the row sits a dud charge that must be left alone entirely: touch it and you have ruined a run that was otherwise perfectly timed. What develops is a sense of rhythm rather than a trick. You stop counting consciously and start tapping to an internal beat, the way you would set down stepping stones. The good runs have a particular feel — a scatter of taps across a few seconds, then stillness, then everything going at once. PlayNow Patient work with a loud reward at the end of it. Plan the order, judge the gaps, leave the dud be, and let the whole shed go off as one sound.
