Swiss Casinos's Breakout game uses a heart-based life counter, each time the ball falls below the paddle without being intercepted, one life is deducted from the display. Losing all lives ends the session and locks in the score up to that point, so paddle positioning and anticipating ball trajectory are essential to survival. A "+life" powerup that can drop from destroyed bricks restores one lost heart, making certain bricks, especially diamond bricks that guarantee a powerup, priority targets. The UFO that periodically crosses the top of the screen offers bonus points without any life risk if the ball happens to strike it during normal play. Life count and final score are saved at the end of each session; the game runs offline with no account required.
