DRM+ SDR decodes DRM signals coming in through SDR Dongle via a USB OTG cable.
DRM+ SDR turns your Android phone or tablet into a DRM30 (Digital Radio Mondiale) receiver for the AM broadcast bands below 30 MHz: medium wave and shortwave. Connect an SDR dongle with a USB OTG cable and listen to DRM30 broadcasts with their text, images and news services.
■ What you can receive
• Audio: HE-AAC, xHE-AAC and Opus
• Text messages and service information (station name, codec, bitrate)
• Slideshow images
• Broadcast Website (MOT)
• Journaline news service, with multilingual text, images and Prev/Home/Next navigation
• Up to 4 services per station, selectable with one tap
■ Input sources
• HF DRM (0.5 – 28.8 MHz): RTL-SDR dongle in direct sampling mode
• VHF DRM (30 – 300 MHz): DRM30 signals on VHF, such as test or low-power transmitters
• DCP recording files: play back DRM recordings without a receiver
• Line-In: DRM30 signal from an external receiver through the audio input
■ Convenient listening
• Keeps receiving in the background and with the screen off. A notification is shown while receiving.
• Live spectrum display and reception status indicators (FAC / SDC / MSC)
• Expandable view for slideshow, website and Journaline pages
■ What you need
1. An Android device with USB OTG support and a USB OTG cable
2. An SDR dongle. Tested with a generic RTL2832U RTL-SDR dongle. For HF reception, use a dongle that supports direct sampling.
3. An Android SDR driver app, installed before you use this app. The driver supports RTL-SDR and HackRF.
4. A suitable antenna for medium wave / shortwave
■ How to start
1. Install the SDR driver app.
2. Connect the SDR dongle to your device with the USB OTG cable.
3. Open DRM+ SDR, choose the input (HF DRM, VHF DRM, DCP file or Line-In) and set the frequency.
4. Press Start. Allow USB access when the driver asks.
■ Notes
• This app decodes DRM30 (robustness modes A–D) only. It does not decode DRM+ (Mode E, the VHF band 76–108 MHz broadcast mode), DAB or analog FM.
• Reception quality depends on the antenna, the dongle and local signal conditions.
■ Refund policy
You can request a refund through Google Play within 48 hours of purchase. Due to company policy, refunds are not possible after 48 hours.
What's new
What's new in 1.2.9
• NEW: Automatic frequency alignment. If the tuned frequency is off from the DRM signal, the app finds the signal center and retunes by itself. No more manual fine-tuning.
• More stable reception: fixed I/Q samples getting out of step when the input buffer was full.
• Auto recovery: if audio stops while the signal is still there, reception restarts automatically and keeps the elapsed time.
