Description

Lock, unlock or kill UHF RFID tag memory with an AIRSTANDARD reader.

Lock Demo shows the UHF RFID lock and kill commands on one screen. Tick the memory areas (kill password, access password, EPC, TID, User), choose Unlock, Perma Unlock, Lock or Perma Lock for each, and send the command. Use it to demonstrate how tags are protected against rewriting, or how a tag is disabled. WARNING: Some actions are permanent and cannot be undone by any reader. Perma Lock makes an area read-only forever, Perma Unlock means it can never be locked, and Kill disables the tag for good. Locking with an access password you do not know makes the area unwritable. Use spare tags only. IMPORTANT: Works with the AIRSTANDARD Air73 Bluetooth UHF RFID reader. The Air73 has no screen of its own; this app runs on your Android phone (Android 8.0 or later with Bluetooth) and controls it over classic Bluetooth (SPP). Without an AIRSTANDARD reader the app opens but cannot lock tags. On AIRSTANDARD handhelds with a built-in reader (Air82), the same app uses that reader directly and skips the connection screen. Connecting 1. Turn on the Air73 (unplug the USB data cable; Bluetooth is disabled while it is connected). 2. Open the app, allow Nearby devices and tap Search, or pick a reader from the previously connected list. 3. Confirm the connection. The app opens the lock screen directly. On the lock screen - Memory checkboxes and four actions per area; the Lock button turns on once an area is ticked. - Result bar with the reader's own success or error text. - Access password and kill password dialogs: set the passwords the reader uses, or write new ones into the tag. - Kill: permanently disables a tag that has a non-zero kill password. - RF power (dBm) and runtime settings (selection mask, session, target, SL) to aim at one tag. - Available in English, Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. What this app does not do It does not list tags, read or write memory values, or save files. Inventory, reading and writing are covered by other AIRSTANDARD demo apps, each published separately. Permissions and privacy - Nearby devices (Android 12 and later): to search for and connect to the Air73. Declared as not used to derive location. - Location (Android 11 and earlier only): those Android versions require it for Bluetooth device search. The app never reads your location. - Wi-Fi state: read by the reader connection library while preparing the device search; no Wi-Fi connection is made. - Vibration and wake lock: feedback and keeping the device awake during work. The app has no internet permission and does not collect or transmit any data. Passwords you type are used only by the reader library on your phone and the reader; they are never transmitted elsewhere. The list of previously connected readers stays on your phone. About AIRSTANDARD AIRSTANDARD develops RFID and barcode reader hardware and SDKs. For the Air73, other products and the SDK, please contact your AIRSTANDARD representative.
