One message a day. One world map. The wall clears for everyone at midnight UTC.
Hi, I'm Ahmad. I built One Day World from my home in Srinagar, Kashmir, because one question would not leave me alone: what would the whole world say if everyone could say just one thing a day?
So that is what this is. One wall, shared by the entire planet. Every day you get one message, up to 200 characters. Not a feed you scroll forever. Not a thread. One message, seen by everyone, placed on a live world map at your city. At midnight UTC the wall clears for everyone, and we all start again from the same blank page.
I love what happens when you only get one. People stop shouting and start thinking. You will find a sunrise from a rooftop in Lima, a "good luck with your exam" from Lagos, a quiet "I'm still here" from a town you have never heard of. That feeling is what I want to share with you.
HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO
Write your one message
Type it, read it once more on a glass card, then send it and watch it fly across the map to your city, where it lands as a glowing dot. I spent far too long on that little flight and I am not sorry.
Explore the map
Every message is a dot at its city. Tap any dot to read it. Jump between My city, My country and the whole world, or search for any place and fly straight there.
Read the world in your language
Messages can be translated into your language automatically, so a note from Osaka or Cairo reads like it came from next door.
Glow what you love
Double tap a message, or tap Glow, to send it a little light. Glows are anonymous and only the total shows, so it never turns into a popularity contest. Today in numbers shows the most glowed message of the day, live counts, the top cities and countries, and the countdown to the next reset.
Keep your streak glowing
A ring around your profile fills a little every day you post. Reach 100 days and it changes colour: Spark, Sun, Ember, Gold, then Aurora. I check mine every morning.
Sort the wall your way
Most recent, most glowed, closest to you, or by country.
Share your day
Turn your message, or a map of every place you have posted from, into a beautiful image and send it to friends or put it on your story.
Your own corner
My messages keeps your last 30 days, with views and glows. My world shows all your places on a map. Choose gentle notifications for a new day, a reminder to post, glows and new countries joining in. Light or dark mode, and a plain board if you would rather skip the map.
SAFE BY DESIGN
I wanted this to be a kind place, so it was built that way from the first day:
- For adults 18 and older.
- Text only, up to 200 characters. Links, phone numbers and handles are blocked.
- Every message is checked before it appears.
- Press and hold any message to report it or block someone.
- Your exact location never leaves your phone. Only your city is shown.
- Delete your account any time, right inside the app.
You can read the wall and explore the map without an account. Sign in with Google when you are ready to post your first message.
This started as a question I could not stop thinking about. Now I get to find out the answer with you, one day at a time. I can't wait to read what you say.
One world. One message. One day.
