Daily kitchen checks, fridge and freezer temps, and an inspection PDF. Offline.
Food Safety Diary is a daily food safety record for cafes, takeaways, pubs, caterers and home bakers. Sign off your opening and closing checks, log fridge and freezer temperatures, and note anything that went wrong and what you did about it.
DAILY CHECKS
• Opening and closing checklists with the usual items: fridges cold enough, staff fit for work, surfaces clean, handwash stocked, no pests, food covered and labelled, waste out
• Tick each item or tap All OK, add your initials and sign off
• Anything not done asks what was wrong and what you did
TEMPERATURES
• Fridge and freezer readings with the time and your initials
• A minus button on screen, so -18 °C works on any keyboard
• Fridges above 8 °C and freezers warmer than -15 °C are flagged and ask what action you took
• Typing slips, like 41 instead of 4.1, are questioned before saving
A RECORD YOU CAN TRUST
• Entries can be corrected on the day they are written, then they lock
• Wrong readings are struck out, not deleted, and stay visible
• Entries added to a past day are marked late, with the time they were written
PRO, ONE PAYMENT
• Inspection PDF for any dates, listing every day, including days with nothing recorded
• Cooking, reheating, hot holding, cooling and delivery temperature records
• 4-weekly review with your figures filled in
• Reminders for opening, closing and temperature checks
• Your own opening and closing checklists
• More than one premises, each with its own diary
Pro is free for 7 days from first open. The diary itself stays free.
YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU
No account and no staff logins. Everything is stored on your phone. Save a backup file to your email or Google Drive, restore it on a new phone, or share every reading as a spreadsheet.
Works in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Choose Scotland and the reheating check uses 82 °C.
Food Safety Diary is a recording tool. It is not made or endorsed by the Food Standards Agency or Food Standards Scotland, it is not legal advice, and it does not guarantee compliance. Use it alongside your own food safety management system.
