Magnet Hunt: Field Game

Magnet Hunt is a hide and seek game for magnets. Your phone has a magnetometer, the sensor its compass uses, and Magnet Hunt turns it into a hot and cold meter. One player looks away while everyone else hides a magnet. The seeker sweeps the phone around the room and follows the heat, the clicks and the buzz until they are right on top of it. How a round works 1. The seeker closes their eyes while the others hide a magnet before the timer runs out. 2. Hand the phone over. The seeker taps Ready to set a baseline for the room. 3. Sweep the phone around. The meter goes from Cold to Very hot, the clicks speed up and the phone buzzes faster as you get closer. 4. Tap Found it. Points for finding it, plus a bonus for every second left. Scores carry on round after round. Small round fridge magnets usually show up from about 10 to 25 cm away and strong neodymium magnets from further. Keys, spoons and flat advert magnets only register within a few cm. Magnet Hunt senses magnets and steel close to the phone. It is not a metal detector and it cannot find gold, coins or anything buried.
