Point your camera and hear the colour. Shades, compare and colour blind views.
Point your camera at anything and Colour Identifier tells you what colour it is, on screen and out loud.
Tap anywhere on the picture to check a different spot. Freeze the picture to look closer, turn on the torch in a dark cupboard, or zoom in on a small thread or wire. Names are everyday words people actually use, such as navy, sage, mustard or light blue, and each one comes with how light or dark it is and the colour code.
FREE
• Live colour names, spoken or silent
• Tap anywhere to read that spot
• Freeze, torch and zoom
• Spot size: small, medium or large
• Copy the colour code
• Works with TalkBack: new names are read by the screen reader
PRO, ONE PAYMENT
• Detailed shade names: 849 shades such as duck egg blue, terracotta and dusty rose
• White card: point at plain white paper to take the tint of the room light out of every reading
• Compare two colours: hear whether two things match, with "same", "very close", "close" or "different", and how B differs (lighter, darker, redder, bluer)
• Colour finder: pick red, green, blue or any colour and everything else turns grey, handy for wires, berries or a lost sock
• Colour blind views: see a scene as someone with red, green or blue colour blindness, from mild to full strength. Show it side by side with the normal picture, and the app tells you what the colour under the circle looks like to that eye ("Green blind eyes: looks olive"). Colour boost pushes hard colours apart
• Colours in photos: open a photo from your gallery and tap anywhere on it
• History and palettes: keep colours, group them into palettes such as "Living room" and share the codes
• Voice and vibration: voice speed, extra spoken detail, and a different vibration for each colour family so you can feel the colour with the sound off
HOW GOOD ARE THE NAMES?
The camera sees the light as much as the object, so use one kind of light, daylight if you can, and fill the circle with the colour. The white card corrects for warm or cool bulbs. Names are an everyday guide, not a lab measurement.
The colour blind views, colour boost and colour finder help with everyday tasks. They do not test, diagnose or treat colour vision. If your colour vision has changed, see an optician.
PRIVACY
Camera pictures and photos are read on your phone and are never uploaded. There is no account. Saved colours stay on your phone.

Better colour blind views (Pro):
• Strength slider, from mild to full
• Side by side: the normal picture next to the colour blind view, with a line you can drag
• The app tells you what the colour under the circle looks like to that eye, for example "Green blind eyes: looks olive"
Plus small fixes.
