An invite-only social network with no ads, no tracking and no algorithm.
The Social Web is an invite-only social network for people who want their feed back.
No ads. No tracking. No algorithm. Every feed is simply newest first, so you read what the people you chose actually posted, in the order they posted it. Nothing is promoted, nothing is ranked to keep you scrolling, and nothing about you is sold.
An invite code from a member is required to join. That is on purpose: every account traces back to someone who vouched for it, which keeps the place small, friendly and free of bots. Once you are in, you get invite codes of your own to share with people you trust. On Home, each invite becomes a single-use QR code you can scan in person, send in a message or copy.
The Social Web is for adults 18 and older. Joining with an invite is free.
Your people, your colors
• Home shows your friends and the people you follow, newest first. Explore shows everyone, also in order.
• Post text with bold, italics, quotes and lists, moods, up to ten photos and videos in one post, GIFs and a voice rant, and links that show a card with the page's title and picture. Share with all members, with friends only or just with yourself.
• React with thirty Vibes, see who vibed and add them as friends, reply to any comment (add a GIF, or a voice response under a voice rant), repost, quote and bookmark. Boost posts you like: Boosts raise the author's Voice, the one plain score that decides who gets featured in Explore.
• Make your profile yours: avatar and cover, bio, status line, an optional real name, your work and school background, a Top friends list, a wall your friends can post on, and a tag of your own next to your name.
• Pick your look: dark or light, your own accent color, font pairings, dozens of animated backgrounds and wallpapers, and a separate look for visitors to your profile.
• Add people the easy way: friend requests, follows, and a personal QR friend code that friends can scan with their camera when you meet in person. Turn on Discover to meet members who share your interests, skills or line of work.
• Join Groups and follow Pages for your crowd, band, project or neighborhood. Every group has its own team, with post approval, pins, mutes and a group log.
• Tag a place on a post and tap it for the map. Share your location with friends you choose, for an hour or until you stop, plan hangouts with invites, RSVPs and check-ins, ping a friend, and get a quiet heads-up when a friend who shares with you is nearby.
• Chat in real time with direct messages and group chats, with photos, GIFs, voice chats, typing indicators and read markers you control. Call a friend by voice or video from a chat.
• Get push notifications for messages, friend requests, vibes, comments, mentions and groups, with original sounds and a switch for each kind. Alerts show no names or message text unless you turn previews on, and Quiet mode silences everything.
Privacy you can check
• No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no trackers and no third-party scripts.
• Photos are re-encoded and their metadata, including location, is removed. Photos, videos and recordings are visible only to signed-in members.
• Two-factor authentication, session management and password recovery by email.
• Decide who sees your profile, your real name, your friends and your groups; who can message, mention or request you; mute members; and post things that disappear after a day, a week or a month.
• Download your data or delete your account yourself, any time, in Settings.
• Wellbeing first: memories and reminders are off by default, and you can mute words, hide counts and pause everything with Quiet mode.
Safe by design
Report any post, comment, profile or message, and block anyone from their profile. Human moderators review reports under published Community Guidelines, with strikes and appeals. Sexual content is not allowed.

New in 0.1.8: voice responses. Answer a voice rant with a voice response of up to three minutes, right in the comments. A comment can also carry a GIF, alone or with a voice response, plus text. Voice rants now run up to five minutes and voice chats up to ten. Messages stay end-to-end encrypted by default (photos, GIFs and voice chats in chats are not). Calls, Discover and richer posts arrived in 0.1.7.
