Ghost Ramen: Cooking Tycoon

By day you run a tiny ramen cart on a vacant lot. By night a lantern lights up — and the guests who sit down at your counter are not people. A fox who hates repeats. A tanuki who pays in leaves. A cat with two tails who will not touch anything hot. A hungry ghost who cannot remember his own name. Each of them wants a very particular bowl, and each of them remembers how you treated them last time. BY DAY — A REAL BUSINESS • Build your cart part by part: burners, cauldrons, noodle baskets, the sink, the pantry. • Find the bottleneck. Guests leave if the queue is long — fix the slowest link, not the one you like best. • Set the menu and the prices, buy supplies before they spoil, hire helpers with real quirks. • Arrange tables and cosy things in the yard, choose a style: Tradition, Showa Neon or Zen. BY NIGHT — YOU COOK BY HAND • Pour the broth, boil the noodles to the right bite, add toppings, serve hot, warm or cooled. • Read the order: some spirits say it plainly, some only hint, some test you. • Feed them well and they become friends, bring gifts and secret recipes. • Let them down and they come back offended: lights go out, bowls fly, the ground shakes. GROW FROM A CART TO A CAFÉ • The cart on the lot — forest and house spirits. • Stalls by the crossing — river and sea spirits, and a dragon who wants a very special bowl. • The café by the metro — mountain spirits and a hearth that nobody fed for forty years. Your old places keep working without you and send you a share. A STORY WITH A SECRET Who is the Lantern Keeper who gave you a second chance? Why does he need the spirits fed?
