Meku

Buying from a business online should not be a risk. On Meku, every business has been checked and verified by us before it can sell to you. HOW WE CHECK A BUSINESS • We visit it, where it trades • We check its business registration certificate and its TIN certificate • It runs its daily sales and stock on Meku Business, our app for managing a business. So the products and prices you see come from the shop's own records, not from a post written once and forgotten • A business that stops meeting these checks is removed from Meku IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG • You can cancel an order yourself until the business starts on it • If the business does not confirm your order within 48 hours, it is cancelled and you owe nothing • Tell us from Help on the order within 48 hours. We take it up with the business and tell you what it will do • A business that does not put a problem right can lose its place on Meku WHAT YOU CAN DO ON MEKU • Order food from restaurants • Buy medicines and personal care from pharmacies, and search by medicine, brand or symptom • Find a job with Meku Jobs. Every job shows its salary, and applying is free: Meku never asks you to pay to apply • Supermarkets, tours and safaris, hotels and guesthouses join as we verify businesses in them HOW ORDERING WORKS • Set your address once, and every store is sorted by distance from you • Add products from more than one store to one basket • Place your order. Meku sends it to each store, and the store calls you to agree how you pay: M-Pesa, cash when it arrives, or when you collect it. Meku adds no fee • Follow each order in the app until it arrives, and rate it once it is delivered YOUR ACCOUNT • Log in with your phone number or email, or with Google or Apple • Use the app in English or Kiswahili • Delete your account in the app at any time Meku is free to use. Prices are in Tanzanian shillings.

• Order updates on your phone: know when the shop confirms your order, when it is on the way and when it arrives. • Links to shops and products now open in the Meku app. • Sharing a product now sends a link to that product, not to the shop. • Meku asks you to turn on location, so it can find your delivery address and the shops near you. • Clearer messages when your location cannot be found.
