CribWatch - Baby Monitor

A baby monitor made of two Android phones. Put an older phone by the crib and take the other one with you — around the home, out in the garden or across town. SOUND IS FREE AND UNLIMITED Listen all night, as often as you like. No daily limit and no ads. AT HOME OR AWAY • The phones find each other over Wi-Fi or mobile data, wherever you are. No network setup needed. • When both phones are on the same Wi-Fi, sound and video stay within your home network. • If the phones lose each other, the app tells you clearly. PRIVACY FIRST • Sound and video travel encrypted from phone to phone. Nobody else can see the content, not even our server — not even when it relays the connection. • Nothing is recorded and nothing is stored anywhere. • No account: the app does not ask for your name, email or phone number. • Everything the server knows about a phone can be deleted with one button in the settings. IT LETS YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR BABY STIRS • Alerts arrive even with the app closed and the screen off. • You choose the sensitivity. The camera measures how quiet the room is on its own, so the same setting works in a quiet bedroom and by a busy street. • From the sound it estimates whether your baby is probably asleep, settling, stirring or crying — or whether it is just background noise. SIMPLE OR DETAILED • Simple view: big and calm, so a glance at night tells you all is well. • Detailed view: the noise level, a chart of the last minute, whether sound is being sent and how much data the night uses. Camera battery, video left and the last alarm are one tap away. • Switch any time and pick the view that opens first. WHAT ELSE IT DOES • Two parents for one camera. • Camera status: battery, loudness in the room and how much video is left. • Melodies and nature sounds played in the room from a distance. • A photo of the room on request. • Problems are visible: when the camera stops hearing or watching, the app says so clearly. WHAT COSTS MONEY Video is free for 5 minutes a day. With the CribWatch Premium subscription, video is unlimited and sharper, and you can talk to your baby. A subscription belongs to one camera, and several parents can connect to it. You can cancel any time in Google Play. WHAT YOU NEED • Two phones with Android 7.0 or newer. • The phone by the crib needs a camera with hardware H.264 video encoding — practically every phone from recent years has one. The app checks this for you. • An internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) for the phones to find each other. CribWatch is not a medical device. It does not monitor breathing or your baby's health and does not replace adult supervision.

• If Android stops watching or listening after the app’s permissions change, the phone now says why and the parent sees right away that the camera isn’t watching. • New in Settings → About: “Rate the app” and “More apps” from the same developer. • After a few calm nights, the monitor may ask, unobtrusively, for a rating on Google Play.
