Edo Castle: Moat Ninja Patrol

Defend the castle of Edo. At dawn, ninja hiding on the rooftops of modern Tokyo glide down into the castle moats one after another. Breathing through bamboo tubes, they swim across the outer moat, climb the stone walls of the inner moat and head for the keep. As a samurai constable, race your little boat through the moats and catch all 88 ninja with thrown coins and lassos. If even one of them gets into the keep, the castle falls. ■ EDO CASTLE'S MOATS, BACK IN MODERN TOKYO • Sail the Kanda River, the outer and inner moats and the Nihonbashi River all the way around the castle • Moats and ponds that were filled in long ago, like Tameike, are brought back as water using old maps • Terrain and water from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan, and today's skyline from Project PLATEAU building data • Glide under expressways, elevated railways and famous bridges • Landmarks include the castle keep, turrets, stone walls, gates, Hie Shrine, the State Guest House, the National Diet and the Nippon Budokan ■ CATCH THEM ALL • Coins: fire a stream of glowing coins at the bamboo tubes of ninja swimming underwater • Lasso: rope a distant ninja, lift him into the air and drop him into the moat • Hold to speed up, and jump over earthen bridges and low banks • Swirling blue warps link moats that aren't connected • The mini-map and guide show the next gate and where the ninja are ■ A DAY IN EDO • The sky changes from dawn to dusk and night • Period-drama style music with shamisen and taiko drums ■ EASY CONTROLS • Steer with the forward / back / left / right buttons, and fight with the Lasso, Coin and Jump buttons • If a ninja gets into the keep, you can watch an ad to defeat him and keep playing (up to 3 times per game) • Share your catch count and rank with friends • Playable offline (ads and sharing need a connection) • The game screens are in Japanese Can you protect Edo Castle?
