Check ✅ each handspun bobbin against your lot's target 🎯 grist before you ply
One bobbin spun heavier than the rest is easy to miss on the wheel and hard to miss in a finished sweater. FlyX 2 checks every bobbin of a lot against a target 🎯 grist and tolerance band that you set, so the odd one is caught before plying.
A lot starts with a target 🎯 WPI and yards per pound, plus photos 📸 of the reference single and its ply-back on your scale card. Each bobbin is then started under the lot and linked to its fibre batch and the weight put in.
At a check ✅ interval you choose, you photograph a fresh length on the card and enter a WPI count. FlyX 2 shows the new ✨ photo 📸 beside the lot's reference with a split-compare ⚖️ wipe, so drift within a bobbin is visible while you are still spinning it.
To close a bobbin, weigh a sample skein and enter its length. Yards per pound comes from that measurement, not from a WPI estimate, and the WPI checks stay recorded next to it.
The grist spread chart 📊 shows every bobbin as a bead against the target 🎯 line and band. Bobbins outside the band are flagged and held back from plying automatically. Plying Review lets you clear or confirm each flag with a note 📝 and release the approved set.
Because each check ✅ carries its time ⏱️ into the bobbin, Bobbin Detail draws a drift timeline 🕒, and Drift Pattern 🔢 gathers checks from all closed bobbins to show when you tend to drift high or low.
Fibre batches are kept by breed, prep and weight, and a built-in breed reference lists typical staple length, grist range and crimp notes 📝. Settings covers units, default tolerance and interval, and a scale card and WPI counting guide.
Everything is stored on your device 📱, and no account or network is needed.
With a few lots closed, FlyX 2 starts showing you the minute in a bobbin where your drift usually begins.
