Keep the bouncy Japanese snacks in the air, merge colours, dodge Grumble!
Meet the Boyonzus: Mochi, Onigiri, Maki, Dango, Taiyaki and friends, a cast of bouncing Japanese snacks who must never, ever touch the ground. Tap them as they fall to send them flying back up. Every few taps another one drops in, and each moves its own way. How long can you keep them up?
MEET THE BOYONZUS
• Mochi, bright and bouncy, loops-the-loop when you tap it
• Manju is too sleepy to care and naps at the top of every bounce
• Onigiri, a hot-blooded rice ball in a headband, passes to its teammates
• Maki, a tiny sushi roll, zig-zags faster than you can blink
• Ohagi says almost nothing and shoves everyone aside
• Dango, Taiyaki, Temari, Naruto, Konpeito and more, each with its own face and attitude
SOUND EFFECTS YOU CAN READ
Every tap, merge and save lands with a manga-style katakana sound effect: PON, MUNYU, DODOON! The English is right underneath.
SMASH MATCHING COLOURS
Knock a snack you just tapped into one of the same colour and they merge into a bigger, floatier one worth more points. Merge again for a crown. Crash a crowned snack into its twin for a MEGA POP.
DODGE GRUMBLE
Grumble the thunder cloud can't stand anyone having fun. He throws weights, shuriken and wasabi, and sends wind and rain. Catch the paper umbrellas for a shield, slow-mo, a colour magnet or a feather.
PETS THAT HELP
Kinako the shiba, Tsuki the moon rabbit, Pon the tanuki, Inari the shrine fox, Ryu the river dragon, Pen-san and more run along the ground and save your drops, each in their own way. When your pet gets sleepy, catch a treat from the sky and it's back on its paws.
A NEW RUN EVERY DAY
The daily omikuji run is the same for everyone: today's guest snack, today's helper pet, today's world. Play your best run, then shake the shrine box and draw your fortune, from 大吉 (great blessing) to 凶. Bad luck? Tie it to the shrine tree and leave it behind.
THE BOYONZU BOOK
A page for every snack, pet and world, with their stories, how each one moves and everything you've done together. Fill them all, and earn 15 feats along the way.
