Pawtone: Dog Whistle Trainer

A high-frequency dog whistle and clicker that is honest about what your handset can play. Pawtone is a calm tool for recall work. Hold one large button to sound a pitch, give each command its own pattern, and learn how high your own device reaches before you rely on it outdoors. Results vary by animal and handset, so the app measures instead of promising. A HIGH-FREQUENCY WHISTLE FOR RECALL • A large hold-to-sound button: release it and the tone fades out softly, with no harsh click. It stops by itself after 10 seconds. • A dial from 1 to 22 kHz with engraved marks, fine nudge steps and volume. • Steady or Pulse, a tone length (Hold, 1, 2 or 3 s) and unlimited saved presets. • A Quick Settings tile and widget play Come or Quiet with one tap. SPEAKER CHECK: KNOW YOUR HANDSET In about ten seconds, Speaker Check sends a rising series of tones while the microphone listens, then draws the real response curve of your model, for example "reaches 19.5 kHz". Pitches above that point turn grey on the dial. It is an estimate. Without microphone access the app still works and shows the theoretical range. LIMITS OF A PHONE SPEAKER • Phones play up to roughly 20–22 kHz depending on the model; many fade earlier. • Metal whistles go far higher than any phone. • Bluetooth often cuts high tones, so the app plays through the handset itself and warns you when audio is routed elsewhere. • Children and young people may clearly hear 15–17 kHz; most adults barely hear it. A PATTERN FOR EVERY COMMAND Ready-made patterns cover Come (two short notes), Quiet (one long note), Attention (a gentle warble) and Sit (three short notes). Frequency Finder sweeps slowly through your range; tap Reacted when the ears turn, repeat once, and Pawtone keeps the pitch your pet notices most. CLICKER TRAINING Four clicker sounds (box, soft, tongue and wood) are preloaded for very low delay, and a counter tracks your marks. Pair every click with a treat or praise: the click marks the moment, the reward builds the habit. BARK ALERT, USED KINDLY (PRO) For your own pet while you are out. Bark Alert listens on the device, recognizes barking and plays your chosen interrupt cue once, then waits at least 15 seconds. It allows at most 20 cues an hour, never louder than the ceiling you set, and ends with the session (two hours by default). A report then shows when it happened. It may help you understand a routine; it is not a punishment or a substitute for exercise, company or a trainer. PROFILES AND PROGRESS (PRO) Keep several dogs, each with a name, its own pitch and its own patterns. Log sessions by command, keep a streak, follow a 30-day chart and export CSV. SAFE USE FOR ANIMALS AND PEOPLE Default volume is 70% and the app warns above 85%. Every mode has a time limit. Never play a tone close to an animal's ears, keep sessions short and stop if your pet seems uneasy. Cue, then reward. PRIVACY Microphone audio is analyzed on the device for Speaker Check and Bark Alert only. It is never recorded, saved or uploaded. Profiles, patterns and logs stay on your device; no account needed.
