Carsmith: Car Maintenance Log

Carsmith is a car maintenance log book that lives on your phone. Every service visit, oil change, fill-up and bill for every vehicle you own, with reminders that follow both the odometer and the calendar. No account, no location, no cloud: it works with no signal at all. SERVICE LOG: ONE VISIT, MANY ITEMS A trip to the garage is rarely one job. Tap + Service, pick every item from a grid of chips (oil and filter, brakes, wipers, battery, inspection or your own items) and type the price of each. Carsmith adds up the total, remembers the garage and keeps a receipt photo if you want one. Old paper records go in with their own date, so your car service log book starts complete. OIL CHANGE & SERVICE REMINDERS, BY MILES AND MONTHS Each reminder has a distance and a time interval, and whichever comes first wins: "Oil change in 1,800 mi or 41 days". Log the service and the reminder resets itself from the new odometer reading. You type the intervals; the suggested reminders for each vehicle type are only a starting point, so check your owner's manual. Tap the big odometer on the home screen to update it. If you forget for a while, Carsmith estimates the reading from your usual daily distance, so the oil change tracker and every car maintenance reminder stay on time. FUEL LOG: REAL MPG, EVEN WITH PARTIAL FILLS Type two of amount, price per unit and total; the third fills itself. Mark a fill-up as full or partial, or flag a missed one. Economy is measured from full tank to full tank with the partial fills added in, so a half-tank top-up never makes your average jump. Until there are two full tanks, the tile simply says so. Choose MPG (US or UK), L/100 km, km/L or kWh/100 km for each vehicle. Your fuel log book and gas mileage tracker sit in the same app as your service history. MONTHLY COSTS & RECURRING BILLS Fuel, service, parking, tolls, insurance, tax, loan: every cost has a category. Set a recurring cost once (insurance every year, a loan every month) and it appears on time, even if the app stayed closed. Home shows this month's total and a 12-month bar chart; Stats breaks costs down by category, cost per mile or km and fuel use. Each vehicle keeps its own units, currency and tank size, so a car in miles and a scooter in km/L sit side by side. Totals are shown per currency, never silently converted.
