Fly a hot-air balloon over Cappadocia at dawn by catching the right wind layer
Goreme Dawn is an arcade flight game about piloting a hot-air balloon over Cappadocia at sunrise. It is 5 am at the launch field near Göreme. The burners roar, a hundred balloons lift over the fairy chimneys, and your basket is next.
A balloon has no steering wheel. Hold to fire the burner and let go to sink. Each height band of air blows a different way, so you climb and drop to catch the layer that carries you where you need to go. The envelope warms slowly, so you have to plan every move a few seconds ahead. Bring the basket in close to the rock churches and dovecotes so your passengers get their photos, skim the tall pillars of Love Valley, and set down softly on Mustafa's chase trailer before the propane runs out. Every morning there is a new route, Today's Sky, built from the real wind forecast over Göreme.
Features:
• Wind-layer flying: hold to burn, release to sink, read the ribbons and pick your height
• Four hand-built valleys: Rose Valley, Pigeon Valley, Love Valley and Uçhisar Castle, opened one by one
• Today's Sky: a daily route made from the live wind at four heights over Göreme
• Mustafa, your chase driver, radios the wind and talks you down onto the trailer
• Collect landmark postcards with real facts about Cappadocia, graded by how close you flew
• Flight certificates with your own portrait, taken with the camera or picked from your gallery
• Logbook with dawn streak, flight history and pilot ranks from student to chief pilot
• Optional dawn call: a morning notification with the day's wind, at the time you choose
Light the burners and see how close you can fly.
