Lay rails for Valparaíso's ascensores before the bay fog hides the hill
Cerro Ascensor is a track-routing puzzle game set on the hills of Valparaíso, Chile. A red wooden ascensor car is stuck halfway up Cerro Concepción, passengers are waiting at the upper station, and Don Tito, the station operator, needs you to lay the rails that will bring everyone home. Every level is a small hillside of houses, stairways and winding track, and your job is to turn a jumble of rail pieces into a line that actually runs.
In Cerro Ascensor, each hillside is a grid of rail pieces. Tap a piece to turn it, or drag one onto another to swap them, until every car is connected to its own station. Fog rolls in from the bay with every move you make and hides the lowest tiles first, so the smart order is to fix the bottom of the hill before it disappears. Rails you have already lit stay visible through the fog, which lets you plan around the parts you can no longer see. Stairways give you extra moves when you are stuck, but every passenger who has to walk up the stairs costs you a star.
When every car is home, Don Tito rings the bell and writes the run in his logbook, with your move count, your stars and a short comment of his own. You can open the logbook at any time to look back at earlier runs and try to beat your own numbers. Each of the five cerros brings its own rule, so the puzzles keep changing as you climb. Once a day there is also a special ride whose fog follows the live forecast for Valparaíso bay: a clear morning on the coast means a clear hill in the game, while a thick camanchaca makes the run much harder. If you want the hills in your own colors, the paint shop takes the colors of a photo from your camera or gallery and repaints every house with them. Keeping your daily streak alive and unlocking the next cerro is what keeps players coming back to Cerro Ascensor.
Features:
• 20 levels across five cerros: Concepción, Artillería, Reina Victoria, Polanco and El Peral, each with its own rule
• Fog that rises with your moves, while lit rails stay visible
• A daily ride whose fog follows the live forecast for Valparaíso bay (uses an internet connection)
• An optional daily bell reminder that stays quiet once you have played that day
• Paint shop: take a photo or pick one from your gallery, and its colors repaint every house on the hills — the photo never leaves your device
• A logbook of every run with moves, stars and Don Tito's comment
• Stars, a daily streak and cerros that unlock as you go
Cerro Ascensor: light the rails before the camanchaca does.
