Any Rock Identifier: Stones

Any Rock Identifier is a rock identifier and stone identifier for your phone. Point your camera at a rock, crystal, gemstone, mineral or fossil and get an identification in seconds — with something most identifier apps won't give you: an honest answer about how sure it is. THE HONEST ROCK IDENTIFIER Many stones simply cannot be told apart from a photo alone, and apps that always sound 100% confident are guessing. Every result carries a High, Medium, Low or Very low confidence rating. High means a decisive feature is actually visible; lower means we tell you what else your stone could be — and exactly how to find out. HOW IT WORKS • Snap a photo or pick one from your gallery • Our AI reads the visible evidence: color, luster, crystal habit, texture • You get the most likely identification, the confidence rating, and the reasoning It works as a gem identifier, crystal identifier, mineral identifier and fossil identifier too. Wondering "what rock is this?" A photo is all it takes. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • Honest High / Medium / Low / Very low confidence with every identification — never fake certainty • "Could also be" alternatives when stones genuinely look alike • At-home confirmation tests for every result: streak, hardness, magnetism, UV and more • Admits when a photo can't be called, instead of bluffing • Identifies rocks, crystals, gemstones, minerals AND fossils MY FINDS Every identification is saved on your device with its photo — your rockhounding collection in one place, ready to revisit or show off. WHAT IT IDENTIFIES Quartz, amethyst, agate, jasper, pyrite, obsidian, malachite, labradorite, fluorite, granite, basalt, geodes, fossils and hundreds of other rocks, crystals, gems and minerals. For safety it deliberately does not identify mushrooms, plants or wildlife — a wrong answer there could hurt you. FREE TO START Your first identification is free, and it includes the full Pro report — what the specimen is worth, whether this material is commonly faked and how to check, and how to clean and store it — so you see the whole product before paying anything. PRO (SUBSCRIPTION) After your free identification, a Pro subscription is required to keep identifying. Choose weekly, monthly or yearly; cancel anytime. Every Pro identification includes the value & rarity estimate, the real-or-fake check and the care guide, plus the same honest confidence rating and field tests, with a fair-use allowance of 100 identifications a day (600 a month). Manage or cancel in Google Play → Subscriptions. Made by the team behind anyrockidentifier.com — the same honest identification engine, in your pocket. AI identification can be wrong. Always confirm with the included field tests or a qualified expert before relying on any result.

Fixed: HDR photos from newer phones could be refused with an error — they now scan normally. Confidence now uses the same four bands as the website: High, Medium, Low and Very low.
