Analemma – sun & moon compass

Analemma is a compass for the sky: it tells you where the sun and the moon rise and set, where they are right now, and much more. All calculations happen on the phone, with no Internet. ☀️ SUN AND MOON ON THE COMPASS • Needles for sunrise and sunset, moonrise and moonset, for any day • The sun and the moon where they are now, even below the horizon • True north and magnetic north, with the local magnetic declination • Your choice of reference: north, or the direction of a place you add 🌕 MOON PHASES • The moon with its real phase, drawn as it looks in the sky • A monthly calendar with each day's shape, and the times of the main phases ∞ THE ANALEMMA • The "figure eight" the sun traces over a year, seen from your place, at the time you choose • Zoom in: first the days appear, then the minutes of the sun's path • Equation of time, declination, true noon • The shadow of a rod: length and direction, for sundials and orientation • Reminders: every day at the same standard time (to photograph the analemma) or at true noon ⭐ STARS AND GALAXY • The four guardian stars — Aldebaran, Regulus, Antares, Fomalhaut — with their rising and setting • The direction of the centre of the galaxy 🌗 ALIGNMENTS AND SWING • The days when the sun and the moon touch the horizon at the same point, or at notable distances • The lunar nodes: the next eclipses and the 18.6-year cycle that widens and narrows the arc where the moon rises • The moon's swing relative to the sun, with its true period 🧭 POSITION FROM THE SKY • Like a sextant: point the phone at the sun, the moon or a bright star, and the app works out where you are • Camera viewfinder, zoom, exposure for the sun and for the night 🔴 FOR THE NIGHT • A "red night" theme to keep your eyes adapted to the dark 🔒 PRIVACY No ads, no account, no data collected. The app does not even ask for Internet access: location and camera stay on the phone. Available in Italian, English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Chinese.
