It creeps into the neighbouring pots, and a single careless placement on one night can be the reason three pots are ruined by the next. That is where the thinking lives. Pots sit beside one another, so the question is never only where one herb belongs but what the herb next to it will suffer if you guess. By the later gardens you are planning two or three nights ahead, keeping a clean corner of pots in reserve and nursing a quota you can only just reach. The pace is yours. Nothing moves until you tap PASS NIGHT, so you can turn a layout over as long as you like, drag an herb back out of a bed and try the arrangement another way.
