Groundhopper — Routes, Stadiums and Visit Log
Groundhopper is an app for following a structured route between football stadiums, completing individual game stages and saving information about completed journeys. The main features are divided between The Hop route, the active stage and The Log.
The main The Hop screen displays a route covering eight stadiums. Each location appears on a separate card with the stadium name, city, brief travel information and distance to the next stop. The stages are arranged in a defined order, allowing users to view the entire route in one list.
The top of the screen provides general route information. It shows the number of completed stadiums, available programmes and total distance travelled. These values update as individual stages are completed.
Groundhopper uses a sequential route structure. The next stadium becomes the current destination, while later locations remain visible in the list for reference. After completing one stage, users can move to the next stop and continue the route.
Each stadium card contains its name, city and a short description of the journey. For example, the information may include a transport route, transfer or approximate distance. This keeps essential details about each part of the journey accessible without opening additional screens.
Each location has its own status. Completed stadiums are marked directly in the list, making it easy to distinguish between finished and upcoming stages.
When the current stage begins, a dedicated game screen opens. The upper section displays the stadium name, timer and current stage status. The main area contains a character, platforms, items and interactive elements.
Controls are based on simple on-screen buttons. Users can move the character left or right and perform the available action using a separate control. This format makes short stages easy to navigate without a complicated control system.
Groundhopper displays a timer directly during the active stage. This allows users to monitor the duration of the current attempt without leaving the game screen.
After a stadium stage is completed, its information is added to the overall route. The card receives the appropriate completion marker, while the related data becomes available in the log.
The separate The Log section is used to review completed stadiums. The upper area shows the total number of recorded locations, saved programmes and total distance travelled.
Each log entry is presented as an individual card. It can display an image, stadium name, city, visit date and an additional rating. This structure creates a visual history of completed stages.
Available locations along the route may include Emirates Stadium, Anfield, St James' Park and Celtic Park. Each is presented as a separate part of the route with its own card and information.
Saved information for completed stadiums can be reviewed without reopening the active stage. The Log works as a separate record of previous results and complements the main route list.
Groundhopper also calculates the total distance travelled. This value appears alongside other general indicators and changes as new locations are completed.
Navigation is divided between The Hop and The Log. The Hop is used to review the route and move to the next stadium, while The Log provides access to the history of completed stages.
The interface is built around stadium cards, a vertical route layout, numerical indicators, the game screen and the log.
Groundhopper combines a route across eight stadiums, sequential stages, simple on-screen controls, a timer, completion statuses, distance tracking and a log of completed stadiums. Review the route, complete available stages and keep your results organised in one app.
