Fern Flock Journal

Fern Flock Journal is a calm, friendly way to keep track of the birds in your garden, local meadow or park. Start a session on the porch or along a field edge, record who visits, and look back at every outing. NOTICE WHAT BIRDS ARE DOING • Mark behaviors with each sighting: Feeding, Singing, Flying, Perched or Nesting. • The summary shows which behaviors you noted and how often. YOUR FAVORITE SPECIES FIRST • Star the birds you see most often and they appear at the top of the species list. • 45 built-in meadow and garden species: bluebirds, goldfinches, cardinals, sparrows, wrens, swallows, hummingbirds, doves, meadowlarks and more. • Common and scientific names, plus custom species for anything else. SIMPLE COUNTING • Pick a species, set the number of birds and add it to the session. • Raise or lower counts directly in the session list. • Total counts update instantly. SESSION SUMMARIES AND HISTORY • Duration, total birds and species observed for every session. • Species breakdown from most to fewest birds. • Past sessions in a tidy grid of cards, newest first. • Overall stats for sessions, birds and species. PRIVATE AND OFFLINE • Everything stays on your phone. No account, no internet, no location tracking. • No ads and no in-app purchases. Reset all data whenever you like. Fern Flock Journal is a personal journal and does not identify birds from photos or sounds
