Gas & Oil

Mix it right the first time. Gas & Oil works out the gas-to-oil ratio for any 2-stroke engine — chainsaw, trimmer, blower, outboard, dirt bike, generator — and then remembers every machine you own so you never have to work it out twice. THE CALCULATOR Pick a ratio, enter how much gas you have, and read the oil. Or go the other way: enter the oil left in the bottle and see how much gas it mixes with. Both directions, always in view. • Common ratios one tap away — 16:1, 24:1, 25:1, 32:1, 40:1, 50:1, 100:1 — or type any ratio • US gallons, Imperial gallons or litres for gas • US ounces, Imperial ounces, millilitres or litres for oil • Oil figures always round UP. Too little oil can seize an engine; a little extra only fouls a plug YOUR EQUIPMENT Every machine you own, each with its own mix ratio. Tap a machine's ratio and the calculator is set for it — no remembering which saw is 50:1 and which trimmer is 40:1. • A photo of each machine, so you know which one you're looking at • Spark plug, air filter, fuel filter and blade or line part numbers — the reason to open this app in a hardware-store aisle • A service history: what you did, when you did it, and the hours on it • Notes for anything else worth remembering BUILT TO BE USED OUTDOORS • Works completely offline. No signal needed in the back forty • Large, high-contrast numbers, plus a text-size setting that scales the whole app • Light and dark, following your phone or pinned to whichever you prefer YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS There is no account, no sign-up, and no server. Nothing you enter ever leaves your phone — this app makes no network calls at all. That also means a lost phone is a lost list, so you can export a backup file any time and restore it on a new phone. FROM 2009 Gas & Oil first shipped on the iPhone in 2009 and was sold in 27 countries. This is the same app, rewritten from scratch — and on Android for the first time. Always check the figure against your machine's own manual the first time you mix for it.
